ATTENTION INSITE USERS: INSITE 8.6 has been released. With this release there is a special requirement customer need to prepare for:

Users must have .NET 4.7.1 installed in order to run the updated version of INSITE. This may impact some users if their Windows has not been kept updated. See the information below or the release notes for more details.

  • Microsoft .NET Framework 4.7.1 is supported on  Windows 8.1 and Windows 10.
  • Microsoft .NET Framework 4.7.1 is not supported on Windows 7 and Windows 8.

All users must upgrade their Microsoft Windows Operating System to version 8.1 or newer, as Windows 7 is no longer supported after 20-Dec-2020. 
All users using Microsoft Windows 8.1 or newer also must upgrade their Cummins Inc. Update Manager client to version 7.3 or later before 20-Dec-2020 to be able to continue to receive updates via Update Manager.

Note to Users: Due to Operating System Limitations on folder depth. Extract this file to C:\Temp or C:\<Name Folder> so that everything can extract without issue. If you extract this to Downloads, Desktop or other folders under the User folder this will cause extraction errors that can corrupt the install. 

Additionally, this package is not compatible with Update Manager. This is for Administrator Installs Only. Requires Administrative Rights to execute the Setup.exe.

Note: These instructions are the same for any version of INSITE 8.X and greater. The screenshots are just examples of the software used to build these instructions.

Note: Once extracted into C:\Temp, INSITE software requires administrative rights to install. Right-click on the BAT File and choose 'Run as Admin'. Alternatively, to install via Update Manager, once extracted into C:\Temp, choose Source > Browse and select the folder where you extracted the Update Manager.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
INSITE 8.6.2 cannot be installed on any Windows 7 operating system. When trying to upgrade to INSITE 8.6.2, a message will be displayed that the operating system is not supported by INSITE. The user will have to upgrade to a supported Windows operating system to be able to upgrade to INSITE 8.6.2.

Calibration Security: On Dec 7th, 2020, new engine control module (ECM) calibration codes will be released using industry standard encryption for all electronically controlled engine products. These ECM calibration codes are only supported in INSITE™ electronic service tool version 8.7.0 and newer. If user does not upgrade, users will not be able to use any calibrations downloaded through QSOL or Cal over web/ECM Code Search feature within INSITE™ after Dec 7th, 2020.
