Today, reliable, flexible and user-friendly digital control technology is available for every on–site power system. For traditional standby power systems that power only emergency lighting for a small building analog controls may still be adequate. However with larger on–site and standby power systems, critical 24/7 power needs, more complex power distribution systems, and a mix of linear and non–linear loads digital controls provide greater performance capabilities. Case History: Info Vision Optoelectronics — China The world's newest LCD screen manufacturer relies on Cummins Power Generation for continuous electrical power. Ten Cummins Power Generation diesel generator sets compose the standby power system that protects IVO’s semiconductor production in the event of a utility power failure. "During maintenance testing procedures, the power system provides an uninterrupted power transfer between the generator sets and the utility," says Xu Jaizhang, plant manager of IVO. "It also assures us of continuous power so that we can maintain production in the event of a utility failure.
