A ROAD TO SOMEWHERE POWERFUL
IN CYPRUS

Cummins Power Generation installs a generator set in Limassol, Cyprus

In order to build a road, you have to lay the proper groundwork. That holds true in transportation and in business. Uniplant Ltd., the Cummins Power Generation distributor in Cyprus, made that phrase a tangible reality for FAP Construction, and paved a road to further projects as a result.

Cummins Power Generation was asked to supply power for an asphalt plant in Limassol. The project, a joint venture of Kythromac Asphalting Ltd., Medcon Construction, and Cyfield-Nemesis Ltd, required the installation of a 900 kVA generator set. FAP Construction provides the majority of road construction supplies in the area.

FAP was so impressed with Cummins Power Generations service and product features that it referred another customer with a similar need. This led to the installation of an 1100 kVA DFJD PowerBox generator set.

WORKING FOR THE WEEKEND

Cummins Power Generation provides power for the Big Weekend two-day festival.

It takes power to rock, and it takes energy to have a big weekend. Fortunately, Cummins UK Ltd’s dealer, Advanced Diesel Engineering Ltd. was available to power Radio 1s Big Weekend at Lyniard Park in Swindon, UK on May 9th and 10th. The music festival has played host to hundreds of bands from across the world, including Black Eyed Peas, Madonna and Keane.

In addition to the star wattage, the event was made possible by four containerized Cummins C550 diesel powered generator sets with paralleling capability. In securing the business, Advanced Diesel leveraged a strong relationship with the BBC. In fact, the group has earned a strong reputation among media companies throughout the United Kingdom on account of its ability to provide comprehensive solutions for media events.

The Big Weekend event, a spinoff of radio 1s One Big Sunday touring summer roadshow, drew tens of thousands of fans to three separate stages. No word on whether the team at Advanced Diesel was able to secure any autographs.

FOR VODAFONE

Recently, two managers from Vodafone, the world’s largest mobile telecommunications company, paid a visit to Cummins Power Generation and Cummins Generator Technologies. Sameh Nazeer, Maintenance and Service Manager and Ahmed Al-Mazry, Material Planning Specialist, visited from Vodafone’s Egypt office to take part in training and product overviews.

Cummins Power Generation has a built a strong relationship with Vodafone, having installed small and large generator set solutions for the telecom provider in the past. The visit was an opportunity to demonstrate the quality of Cummins Power Generation and Cummins Generator Technologies facilities, and to build a solid relationship with an important customer.

Both Vodafone representatives enjoyed their visit, and found the product training to be very informative.

S.E.T.I. JORDAN SHINES AT JIMEX

S.E.T.I. Jordan’s exhibit was praised for its strong use of colour and for its consistency.

Recently, Cummins Power Generation distributor S.E.T.I. Jordan had the opportunity to exhibit at the Jordanian International Machines and Electro-Mechanical Equipment Exhibition (JIMEX). The expo, which took place in Amman, Jordan from June 14-17, 2009, featured more than 125 exhibitors from more than a dozen countries.

JIMEX is organized annually in cooperation with the Jordan Engineers Association, the National Energy Research Center, Tuyap of Turkey and other official organizations. Jordanian Trade Minister Amer al Hadidi, attending the expo on behalf of the Prime Minister, had an opportunity to stop by the S.E.T.I. Jordan exhibit. He came away very impressed, recognizing the exhibit to be among the ten best featured at JIMEX. /p>
